Location
:
Take a short drive (50 km) out of Whitehorse, west on the
Alaska Highway towards Haines Junction. There, in the Takhini
Valley,
is the Base of Yukon Wild. On our
widespread property this cabin is in a private spot,
surrounded by open spruce and poplar
stands. From the window
you look at Pyramid Mountain, the highest Peak of the
Ibex Ridge. The Ibex Valley trail is just
1 kilometer away. There is Road access to the
property, but
just a walkway ( 150m) to the cabin.
|
Set
up :
The
cabin comfortably sleeps 4 People. There is a double
mattress in the loft and two single beds
downstairs in the back room.
The main part of the log
house is an open concept with table, bench and
chairs in front of a panorama window. The kitchen area
with cabinets and a good size counter has a 3 burner propane
stove and an oven. It comes with all the kitchen
equipment like
pots and pans, cutlery and dishes.
There are propane lights ( you won't need them in the
summer) and water tanks and a woodstove to heat up
the cabin if need
be. Enjoy the great view even from the outhouse as part
of your bathroom facilities. An earth cooler keeps your perishables in top
shape.
Next to the cabin is a campfire set up with seats and
benches and of course lots of firewood for a nice
evening outside
